LHN Closing Ceremony 2026 Celebrates Growth, Gratitude & God’s Faithfulness

The Lighthouse Homeschool Network (LHN) community gathered on May 9, 2026, at the USeP Social Hall for the LHN Closing Ceremony 2026, bringing together homeschooling families to celebrate the conclusion of another meaningful homeschool year.

Centered on the theme “Rooted & Rising: Living in Gratitude,” the event was a joyful celebration of God’s faithfulness throughout Homeschool Year 2025–2026. It provided an opportunity for families to reflect, give thanks, recognize milestones, and enjoy fellowship as a community.

Moving-Up and Graduation Ceremony

The afternoon began with an Opening Prayer led by Keith Bryan Ching, followed by a time of Praise and Worship led by the Parola Band. LHN President Larrie Rocha welcomed the community and recognized the many leaders, volunteers, circle leaders, and Board members who faithfully served during the year.

Families were then introduced to the Tree of Gratitude, a special activity that invited the community to reflect on God’s blessings and faithfulness in every season of their homeschool journey.

The Moving-Up and Graduation Ceremony followed, with members of the LHN Board of Trustees recognizing students for their progress, achievements, and milestones. Graduates from various levels were honored alongside fellow homeschoolers who had successfully completed another year of learning and growth.

Special recognition was also given through the presentation of the Youth Leadership Excellence Award (YLEA), presented by Marideth Kezzia Espliguera of JCI Duwaling. The award honors graduating elementary and junior high school homeschoolers who demonstrate leadership, character, service, and positive influence.

The community was further encouraged by a heartfelt message from graduating batch representative Danielle Christy Fuentes and an inspirational message from guest speaker and LHN founder Flora O. Tumutod. Families also shared messages of thanksgiving through the Presentation of Gratitude Letters, reflecting on God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout the year.

The formal program concluded with a Closing Prayer and Blessing by Sagisag Dadap, followed by a community singing of “Alleluia” led by the Parola Band and the LHN Cool Kids.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Tree of Gratitude, where families shared written messages expressing their thankfulness to God. These testimonies reflected the many ways God had sustained, guided, and blessed families through victories, challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities to grow. Inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:18, the activity reminded the community to “give thanks in all circumstances.”

Another important highlight of the event was the surprise presentation of flowers to mothers in anticipation of Mother’s Day the following day. The gesture served as a simple but meaningful expression of appreciation for the love, sacrifices, dedication, and faithful service of mothers in their families and homeschool journeys.

JCI Duwaling also presented a recognition to the Lighthouse Homeschool Network Board of Directors in appreciation of the organization’s partnership and shared commitment to leadership development, service, and community-building. The recognition was received on behalf of the Board during the ceremony.

Fellowship and Performances

Following the formal program, families enjoyed a time of fellowship over a community dinner. The evening’s homeschooler performances, hosted and led by Cristina Melencion and Toni Fuentes, showcased the talents and creativity of LHN students through music, presentations, and special numbers, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

Adding to the excitement and fun were raffle draws featuring prizes generously contributed and accumulated through the support of members of the LHN community. The evening concluded with fellowship activities that allowed families, students, and friends to strengthen relationships and celebrate the year together.

More than a ceremony, the event was a reminder that homeschooling is not merely an academic journey but a family and community journey rooted in faith. As another homeschool year came to a close, families celebrated not only achievements and milestones but, more importantly, God’s faithfulness in every season. Looking ahead, the LHN community remains committed to growing together in learning, service, discipleship, and gratitude.
