As a Christian organization, Lighthouse Homeschool Network Philippines, Inc. holds on to orthodox Christian beliefs that are accepted by the majority of Evangelical believers all over the world and are derived from the written and only inspired Word of God, the Bible. Homeschooling families who want to become full- pledged members of LHN are required to subscribe without reservation to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith which include the following:
- The Trinity. We believe in the unity1 of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead2.
- The Sovereignty of God. We believe in the sovereignty of God in creation3, revelation4, redemption5, and final judgment6.
- The Ultimate Authority of the Holy Scriptures. We believe in the divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of the Holy Scriptures, as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct7.
- The Creation of Man in God’s Image and the Sinfulness of Man. We believe God created man good and in His own image8 but because of the fall and disobedience of our first parents, Adam and Eve, in Paradise9 all men are born sinful, corrupt, and guilty10, rendering them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation11.
- The Redemption of Man from Sin through the sacrificial death of Christ. We believe in the redemption of fallen men from the guilt, penalty, dominion, and pollution of sin, solely through the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ12, the Incarnate Son of God13, as our Representative and Substitute14.
- The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead15 and His ascension to the right hand of God the Father16.
- Justification by Faith in Christ alone. We believe in the justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith in Christ alone17 for salvation is not by our own doing, but it is the gift of God so that no one may boast18.
- The Work of the Holy Spirit in Regeneration and in the Believer’s Life. We believe in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration19. We also believe in the sanctifying work of the same Holy Spirit in the lives of true believers in Christ20 enabling them to bear spiritual fruit21 and to persevere in the faith until the end22.
- The One Holy Universal Church. We believe in the one Holy Universal Church which is the Body of Christ to which all true believers belong23.
- The Return of Christ. We believe in the visible and personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ24 to consign his enemies to eternal judgment in the lake of fire25 and to gather all His saints to be with Him in eternal glory26 as the ultimate hope of every believer in Christ27.
All members must fully agree to the above doctrines and statements of the Christian faith.
